
The 2nd US Open Pencak Silat Tournament and Festival will be held from October 10–12, 2025, in Herndon, Virginia. This international event will feature both competitive matches and cultural showcases, including workshops and a Batik exhibition. The venue is conveniently located near Washington Dulles International Airport and just 30 minutes from Washington D.C. Participants are encouraged to join this unique celebration of martial arts, tradition, and global community.
Pricing
Competitor registration is $65 per person if completed by August 10, 2025; after that, the fee increases to $85. Spectator early bird tickets are $15 for single-day access if purchased by August 10, and $20 afterward. A 3-day spectator pass is available for $30. All spectator tickets include full access to both the competition and the Silat Festival activities.

Early Bird Registration (Due August 10, 2025):
Competitors who register by this date will receive a discounted rate of $65 per person. Early registration also provides priority in scheduling and category placement. Registration link coming soon
Late Registration (August 11–August 31, 2025):
Late registration will be accepted at the standard rate of $85 per participant. Space is limited, and entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the 100-competitor limit is reached. Registration link coming soon
Payment Deadline (Due September 5, 2025):
All registration payments must be completed by this date to confirm participation. Unpaid entries risk forfeiture from the tournament roster. Registration link coming soon
Location
The tournament will be at our facility 40 minutes from the capital of USA (Washington, DC) in Herndon, Virginia. The location is about 25 minutes from Washington Dulles Airport. There are several hotels in the area for individuals who are coming from out of town.

Categories
We will have 4 categories: Tanding, Tunggal, Ganda, Regu
Requirements for Tanding
All participants must wear black Silat uniform to compete. If you do not have access to Pencak Silat uniforms, we will be selling some Silat tops at the tournament to purchase for $40. A generic black martial arts uniform may also be acceptable (subject to approval by judges). Also if you are sparring, please come with a black chest protector.
Requirements for Tunggal
- Ikat/Kain Samping (head piece and batik sarong)
- Long Knife (Golok or Parang ) size 30 – 40 cm*
- Toya/Tongkat (rod) made from rattan. Measuring from 150 – 180 cm and the diameter of 2.5 cm – 3.5 cm.*
*Note: if it is too difficult to bring a golok and/or toya, we can provide it, but better to bring your own.
Age Groups
We will have several categories:
- Adults (18-35)
- Juniors (14-17)
All matches will be divided by weight class as regulated by Persilat.
Brackets
Brackets will be completed weeks in advance before the tournament so you will know exactly who you will be competing against.
Tournament Details
We plan to have two arenas and use electronic scoring. However, depending on the number of competitors, we may increase it to three arenas.
Rules and Regulations
- The competition rules and regulations are complied with accordance set by the International Pencak Silat Federation (PERSILAT)
- The competition will use EventSilat’s digital scoring system. If any problems arise in using the digital scoring system, then the scoring will be done manually.
- If there is any unsettled decision or problem arisen which is not set in the PERSILAT competition rules and regulations, then the organizing committee will have the right to finalize the decision.
- Technical Official will refresh about the rules and regulations to the Team Manager one day before the event.
Weighing
- All Pesilat will be weighed on the registration day to confirm their categories.
- Every Pesilat should produce a certified medical certificate. If Pesilat
failed to show the medical certification before weighing will be disqualified from the competition. - All athletes must be weighed in 15 minutes before competition.
- During the weighing, all Pesilat must wear Pencak Silat costume for the
competition, dry, without sash, without groin guard or any joint guards.
